Some may shy away from the “Aura” portion of this story, and while it does have a *dash* of the paranormal, it’s not how I would identify this novel. As many of those who’ve already read this story have said, it’s a small twist but that’s all. Widower’s Aura is a contemporary romance with both suspense and a dash of paranormal. If you’re unsure, please feel free to read the excerpts I’ve provided HERE.

So EVERY review I’ve received, good or bad, matters to me. For one it means someone took the time to read what I wrote, and secondly they took the time to WRITE a review. I wanted to share this particular review by the One Nerdy Girl and Her books blog.
Widower’s Aura by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 starsAn Epic Love Story
A couple of things before I start.
The storyline was 10/5. seriously. I loved the way the story progressed – smoothly and enticingly.
Characters were awesome. They grew with the story and developed with each plot twist.
The only thing I had an issue with was all the touchy feely stuff. Like, kissing in public all the time. I dunno, to me that’s a little weird that they did that while out with people. But then again, I’ve never been with someone that I can’t keep my hands off, so I could be bitter!As for the book itself, and my review, I really enjoyed the book as a whole. The characters interacted well with each other, and I super related to Sofia with her mortification regarding the Lindsey incident. Seriously, that was way on the money. Then, to top it off, Marc gets in on it and is just plain awesome. I think he’s my favourite character, just by the way he teases Sofia and Noah.
The author obviously expressed her own sense of humor when developing the discourse of Marc throughout the book, and has a great grasp of his and Noah’s friendship. I also want to point out that while Noah is a little possessive (just enough to be delicious), the author didn’t take it so far as to make the relationship vaguely abusive. Believe me, that can happen.
You’ll want to read this book because of the storyline (a girl moves to a new town, meets a guy thats still dealing with heartbreak and wants nothing to do with her, but she’s been forced into his life through circumstance), but you’ll keep reading for the characters that will make your heart ache for even a little of what they offer. You’ll keep reading for the humor that the author has interspersed throughout the book, and then, like me, you’ll be heartbroken that the next book isn’t out yet. You’ll cross ever appendage you have, and use all your willpower to not threaten and force the book to come out earlier.

It’s officially FAT TUESDAY or as it’s better known as, Mardi Gras! A day of parties and festivities before the Catholic Lent Season begins.
I wish I could say I was enjoying a beignet while I chat with you, but sadly I cannot. The last time I was in New Orleans celebrating this very fun time was February of 2007. My husband, our best man, and I drove up from Orlando. We had such a great time. Between the culture, food, festivities, and seeing my New Orleans family it was busy and a very happy time. If you ever have the opportunity to go, TAKE IT!

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves last night! We hung out at home after a few weeks of go go go. It was amazing! My husband set a fire in the pit and we sat around chatting. When that was done we played cornhole. Overall a great night even if you include my younger two not cooperating with bed time.
Do you have any resolutions for the coming year? I don’t really do them because my goal is always to be a better version of myself. Right now, like many people, that does fall on a physical level but it’s also working on patience, kindness, etc…
This coming year is going to be an adventure. I’ll release Always Mine in March. I plan to finish writing Duplicity. I have a story I want to return to that has nothing to do with the St. Fleur series.
Somewhere in all of my writing we will also move to God only knows where. There are many unknowns in our family thanks to our four years in Las Vegas ending.
So tell me, what goals, resolutions, or aspirations to you have for this coming year?

Hi friends!
I’m sorry I haven’t been around much lately. I’ve had a ton of things land on my plate and I’m beginning to crumble.
My oldest got back to school, I’m editing book 2, we volunteered to foster a dog, I was volun-told to head up the block party for my neighborhood, my kids are sick, and my family car broke down. Those are the highlights in no particular order.
So mix that all up and you get one stressed out mom/wife/author who ends up going to the ER for chest pains.
Good news: My heart and body are good, great even!
Bad news: I suck at managing my stress and was having an anxiety attack. -_-
Time to prioritize things and learn how to cope with my new life.
So bear with me as I reboot AJ 2.0.

I know it’s been a bit since I posted. My girls finished up their dance season, we had company, went to San Francisco… BUSY!
An update.
Tomorrow Widower’s Aura will be sent to the editor. I want you to have the best experience reading my novels and that includes not having to fumble through grammar issues, etc… Teasers are being worked on but let me tell you picking lines that will leave you guys wanting more sounds easier than it really is. I have one created and I want one more at least.
I’m narrowing down my choice on Always Mine’s book cover. I will also be releasing the synopsis in the coming month or so. This novel features Lindsey and Marc’s story.
Book 3, Jaime Lynn and Jesse’s story, is currently in the works. Follow me on Facebook and Twitter to hear about my progress. I’m at 49% complete and I’m really happy with how it’s coming out. This one won’t have any suspense like Widower’s Aura and Always Mine but the conflict hits some tough, real life experiences and issues. It’s been quite the ride.
I can’t believe July is around the corner! My Pre-Release Blitz is July 19! That’s right around the corner!
I’m also a little under the weather. Here’s hoping I feel better fast! I just read Laura Kaye’s Hard to Let Go this week which was a great read and nice break.

You excitedly finish a novel and can’t wait to sing its praises (or the desire to warn others to avoid it, save their money and even suggest a different author to read.) You decide this one is worth your time to review. Now you’ve put together what you deem is a wonderful review, summarizing the novel, the pro’s and con’s and any constructive criticism so others will know your opinion. You submit it to Amazon and move on with your life. Or so you think.
There have been numerous complaints of Amazon rejecting reviews. Receiving a message similar to this: “We removed your Customer Reviews because you know the author personally.”
Okay on the one hand, I understand and respect Amazon for making sure items, in this example-books, are not being bloated with 5 star reviews by well meaning family and friends. On the other hand, if the individual has submitted a well thought out review I think it’s unfair of Amazon to remove it.
Why can’t a family or friend be a genuine fan? I won’t even get into the how Amazon has linked the two. Talk about big brother conspiracy like theories. Incredibly creepy.
As I get closer to Widower’s Aura becoming live I worry about losing well thought reviews to Amazon’s scrutinization of my relationship with my first readers. Reviews are necessary in the writing community especially for Independent Authors like myself.
Personally, I don’t care for any dishonest reviews. I understand and accept that my novel will not be everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s ok. If you don’t like my novel and want to tell others not to read it, well that’s your choice. I’ll just go find a corner and rock myself. No really, write it. I just hope you can do it in a respectful manner. There’s no need to be mean just to be cruel.
If you haven’t heard about this, ask around. See if any of your go to authors have experienced this. If you are lucky enough to create an online or real life friendship with one of your favorite authors, know that your new friendship may block future reviews without further explanation.
